adult female reproductive tract mechanosensory neuron [FBbt_00049944]
Mechanosensory neuron of the female reproductive tract that responds to the distention of the tract (Gou et al., 2014). There is one cell body of these cells on each lateral oviduct, 3 on either side of the base of the common oviduct (Gou et al., 2014), and a cluster of them in the ovipositor (Wang et al., 2020). They have large dendrites that tile the surface of the reproductive tract and they project to the abdominal ganglion (Gou et al., 2014).
